About us
milkteawithoutmilk (MTWM) is a Hong Kong DIY record label founded in 2023. The organisation focuses on organising events, distributing records, and publishing zines, as well as liaising with regional and international promoters for tours and distribution.
For distribution and our concerts, we accept all genres of music; we specifically like screamo/emo, punk, goth, experimental, noise, alternative…
Our vision
Through event organisation, zine publishing, the distribution of physical records, and community building, we aim to create and cultivate an inclusive, friendly, and interactive platform for alternative cultural creation and consumption.
At the same time, we aim to explore and spark new possibilities with like-minded local, regional and international labels and organisers.
We are queer-led and queer-focussed.
Our manifesto
To self-organise without external influence or control;
To sustain ourselves by organising DIY concerts, publishing zines, and producing and distributing records, with any and all profits going back to artists/performers, MTWM’s mutual aid programme(s), and future events;
To stand in solidarity with, and provide an alternative and safe events space for those who are under-privileged in this capitalistic and patriarchal society, providing mutual aid wherever appropriate and necessary;
To welcome and create a community of friends that focuses on and actively participates in issues in and out of DIY music and its community.
