About us
milkteawithoutmilk (MTWM) is a Hong Kong DIY record label founded in 2023. The organisation focuses on organising events, distributing records, and publishing zines, as well as liaising with regional and international promoters for tours and distribution.
Our vision
Through event organisation, zine publishing, the distribution of physical records, and community building, we aim to create and cultivate an inclusive, friendly, and interactive platform for alternative cultural creation and consumption.
At the same time, we aim to explore and spark new possibilities with regional and international labels and organisers.
Our manifesto
To stay away from the hyper-capitalism and over-commodification of live music as a product;
To be not-for-profit, in order to create a friendlier and more inclusive space for marginalised communities (for example: the queer and FLINTA+ community*), allowing performers and audiences alike to enjoy the event no matter who they are;
To sustain ourselves by organising DIY concerts, publishing zines, and producing and distributing records, with all profits going back to the artists and the artform itself;
To welcome and create a community of friends that focuses on and actively participates in issues in and out of DIY music and its community.
*FLINTA+ stands for Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Transgender, Agender, and others.
